Aliko Dangote has accused the NMDPRA Chief Executive of corruption and called for a Code of Conduct Bureau investigation.
Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, has made serious allegations of corruption against the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed. Dangote has petitioned the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) to investigate Ahmed for alleged corrupt practices and abuse of office. The billionaire businessman claims that the NMDPRA boss has been frustrating the operations of Dangote Refinery to protect the interests of fuel importers. Dangote alleged that Ahmed has been receiving kickbacks from importers and has refused to support local refining despite its benefits to the economy. The NMDPRA has denied the allegations, describing them as baseless and diversionary.
